Conservation Clinic

Every month the Winterthur Museum Garden & Library hosts a free conservation clinic for the public. Visitors to the clinic bring in cherished collection items to be examined by Melissa and her classmates to discuss condition and preventive care. For each clinic, Melissa sets up a collections care table with storage examples, didactics, product samples, and resource sheets to hand out.

Laboratory Tours

There are regular tours of the conservation laboratories at Winterthur. Melissa uses these visits as an opportunity to describe preventive conservation to the public and make people aware of the research and its applications.
